Connecting Point is a Public Authority located in Grass Valley. Services Nevada County, Placer County, Sierra County, Plumas County and Butte Colusa.

Providing 211 services,

CalWorks services i.e. classes, training, temporary financial assistance and job placement.

Youth job core (ages 16-30): providing job readiness training, goal setting, and employment search support to young adults in Nevada County and Tahoe-Truckee; and

Home Care services in Nevada, Sierra and Plumas Counties.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Technician located in Nevada City, CA. The Accounting Technician will be responsible for performing various clerical accounting duties, including processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining financial records. The role will also involve preparing and processing payroll, handling general ledger entries, assisting with budget preparation, and performing other related accounting tasks as required. The Accounting Technician will work closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Proficiency in preparing and processing payroll
  • Strong skills in bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and financial record-keeping
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
  • Experience in a public authority or government setting is a plus
