Overview Summer Internship Program - Asphalt Production, Asphalt Paving & Construction Location: West Valley City, UT, US, 84128 Overview Summer Internship Program Location: Salt Lake City, UT Reports To: HR Business Partner Compensation: $21-$26
Our summer internship program consists of a well-rounded learning experience within our Asphalt Production, Asphalt Paving and Construction divisions. Our goal is to not only provide real-time exposure to our each of our work processes and industry, but also provide development opportunities in the areas of leadership, maintenance, and the day-to-day workforce. Working with our teams provides a dynamic experience and an opportunity you’ll want to include on your resume. We generally kickoff our program in late May and end early to mid-August dependent upon intern availability. In addition to providing interns with practical, hands-on experience we will also spend time learning and participating in sustainability projects, governance exposure, leadership training, presentation skills, and communication development. Roles & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the team to determine solutions to common problems.
  • Learn and assist in day-to-day operations of the business.
  • Adopt and adapt safety protocol, with direct exposure to corporate safety training.
  • Work with and support various departments to include operations, maintenance, quality, and sales.
  • Learn the products we provide and produce, as well as the process that goes into producing them.
  • Learn to operate plant equipment, as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • This is a perfect opportunity for a sophomore or junior currently studying in a construction management program (or similar field of study).
  • Should be available to work 40 hours or more each week from the end of spring semester (May) to start of fall semester (August).
  • Ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities or desires to take necessary steps to become a solid leader in the construction industry.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have transportation to and from assigned workplace each day.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of leadership.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, and up to 50 lbs with assistance, if needed.
