Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking an Application Engineer in Albuquerque to design custom HVAC solutions that meet client performance requirements while maximizing equipment efficiency. Impact

• Drive equipment sales by developing optimized system designs for commercial buildings
• Reduce energy consumption through strategic equipment selection and load calculations
• Support sales teams with technical expertise that differentiates proposals
• Build client confidence through accurate system modeling and performance guarantees

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations and energy modeling for commercial HVAC systems
• Design equipment layouts for chillers, boilers, air handlers, and rooftop units
• Prepare equipment submittals and technical specifications
• Coordinate with sales teams to develop competitive proposals
• Review mechanical drawings and provide value engineering recommendations
• Support bid processes with take-offs and material estimates
• Conduct site surveys to assess existing conditions and constraints
• Provide technical training to sales staff and clients on equipment capabilities

Requirements Must-Haves

• 3+ years in HVAC application engineering or mechanical design
• Proficiency with load calculation software (Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or similar)
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and energy codes
• Experience with commercial HVAC equipment selection and sizing
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

Nice-to-Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with building automation systems integration
• Background in energy audits or retro-commissioning
• Familiarity with LEED or energy efficiency programs
