Position Chief Business Risk Officer Position Summary The Chief Business Risk Officer position will manage the risk and operations for key areas within the bank and is responsible for directing, administering and overseeing risk management and regulatory compliance activities in accordance with the goals and objectives established by the CEO and Board of Directors. Key areas of accountability for risk and operations oversite include: Branch Operations Depository & Treasury Products & Services Loan Operations & Services Compliance & BSA AML Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure an effective Compliance and Risk Management program, reflecting the size and complexity of our business practices and objectives and aligns with the regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Contribute to the strategic direction of the Bank through the development and implementation of Risk Management strategies, policies and procedures. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework that aligns with the bank’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements. Work with the executive team to define the bank’s risk appetite and collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management. Assess potential impacts of product changes to the company's risk position. Advise on opportunities to further develop the product development strategy and associated tactics that are both defensive and offensive in nature, appropriately balancing risk, and return. Oversee and lead the AML, BSA and Compliance teams, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization. Direct, counsel, and manage compliance, ensure that proposed and final federal and state regulatory changes are reviewed and analyzed to identify and assess the impact on the corporation's business practices and procedures. Operate as a liaise with regulatory agencies and manage regulatory compliance examinations and audits. Provide updates regular updates to the executive team and Board of Directors on the bank’s risk profile, emerging risks, and risk mitigation efforts. Offer insights and recommendations for risk management improvements. Oversee the administration of risk and compliance training programs for team members and management to ensure team members are informed of and understand their compliance responsibilities. Requirements 10+ years’ experience overseeing risk management and/or compliance within the financial industry. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Compliance/ BSA/ AML knowledge and leadership related to digital assets, money-service-businesses. Previous experience in working with fintech, SMB type of clients with expertise in the Payments space, a plus. Agility in standing-up sponsor-bank programs in conformance with laws and regulations while serving the needs of clients. Creative problem-solver and executive leader versatile in interfacing with many constituents with competing priorities. Understanding of risk management principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices within the banking sector. Ability to identify, assess, and effectively mitigate risks, ensuring the stability and security of operations. Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills, capable of clearly conveying complex risk concepts to diverse audiences, including senior management and stakeholders.
