About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its mission of creating and stewarding a premier greenway system. The CEO will be responsible for executing the organization's mission and vision, developing and implementing a strategic plan, and ensuring the financial health and well-being of the organization. This includes a strong focus on fundraising, both from public and private sources, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an experienced, dynamic leader with a deep understanding of municipal or government processes, community and economic development, and natural resource management. They should be a strong relationship builder, politically savvy, and possess exceptional communication skills. The ideal CEO for the company will have a background in business, nonprofit management, parks and recreation management, urban public planning, or public administration, with a preference for a master's degree or equivalent experience. Essential skills include the ability to lead a diverse team, manage operations effectively, and uphold the organization's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The role requires a purpose-driven leader with a commitment to social responsibility, high integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The CEO will also be responsible for talent development, ensuring the organization is properly structured and staffed, and maintaining a culture of integrity, rigor, and camaraderie.
