Essential Functions

  • Serves as the liaison and consults with agency staff to clarify information uses for publications, media requests and community outreach programs to generate content for the news media, social media, and agency newsletter
  • Creates and maintains essential website content utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Maintains regular access to sensitive and confidential information
  • Participate in agency meetings and other meetings with external partners
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in journalism, English or public speaking
  • Requires two (2) years of professional experience in a public education and information program in a public or private agency

Specialized Skills

  • Requires two (2) years of professional experience utilizing writing, editing, and communication skills in a public relations area of a public or private organization
  • Requires two (2) years of professional experience working with website and social media content

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing writing, editing, and communication skills in a public relations area of a public or private organization
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working with website and social media content
  • Two (2) years of professional experience with social media analytics
  • Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Ability to analyze, edit and revise informational material prepared by others
  • Extensive knowledge of the use of the methods and the media of disseminating information
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, clients and others
  • Ability to analyze administrative problems and adopt an effective course of action

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires the ability to work outside of normal hours to meet deadlines Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • Requires appropriate, valid drivers' license
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. This is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Overtime is a condition or employment, and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime
