Job Overview The Sussex County Community Peer Recovery Center is looking for a part-time (24 hours per week) dynamic, motivated Community Engagement Coordinator to promote and enhance the visibility of the Sussex County Community Peer Recovery Center. Duties include developing and implementing community engagement strategies, establishing, and sustaining positive relationships throughout the community, and representing the Community Peer Recovery Center at community events. The ideal candidate should be organized, self‑directed, and detail oriented. The community center hosts various activities to foster community and belonging, including recovery-focused meetings, recovery coaching sessions, social activities, and sober events. Responsibilities Develop and implement community engagement strategies by applying creativity and problem‑solving skills to identify and address community needs and concerns. Coordinate and represent the CPRC at community events to raise awareness of its services and advance its mission. Partner with the Social Media and Communications Coordinator to develop and execute strategic events and campaigns that boost visibility and community engagement. Coordinate the distribution of marketing and outreach materials across local businesses, medical offices, community hubs, and public health locations to maximize visibility and engagement. Establish and sustain positive relationships with local businesses, organizations, community members and stakeholders to strengthen the CPRC’s visibility and community presence. Collaborate with community partners to identify and pursue opportunities for expanded partnerships and shared support. Attend CPRC activities and events, including the monthly advisory board meeting. Cooperate with others and contribute to a positive work environment. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field is required. Two years’ relevant work experience without a degree may also be considered. Minimum of two years of personal recovery experience, with demonstrated stability and a solid understanding of the recovery process. NJ‑CPRS, NCPRSS or other recovery support certifications or willingness to obtain. Demonstrated cultural competence and hands‑on experience working with individuals and community groups from diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with social media platforms and core marketing concepts. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage multiple projects. Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing, safe driving record, and adequate motor vehicle insurance. Must have reliable transportation and be available to travel for offsite meetings and events as needed. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Position Details This position is a part‑time, in‑person role averaging 24 hours per week with some evenings and weekends required. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Paid time off includes vacation and holidays (vacation eligibility begins after 90 days).
