Job Description

Summary: A Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the detention facility operates within all legal and regulatory standards by monitoring detainee treatment, facility procedures, and staff conduct, investigating complaints, and actively working to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, often including overseeing security protocols and reporting any violations immediately to the Chief of Security. Conducts continuous quality control inspections of the facility and staff in the field on assigned shifts and departments approved QA Forms derived from ICE Detention Standards to ensure compliance with PBNDS and ACA standards. Please Notes: This position is contingent upon contract award. The salary range for this position is $103,542-$109,542/year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : (including but not limited to) Providing daily reports to the Chief of Security. Work with ICE compliance personnel in conducting changes to ACA files Prepare Weekly QC Audit Report; forwarding report to the Chief of Security. Recommending corrective actions on findings in accordance with ACA and PBNDS standards. Provide assistance to third party inspectors/auditors conducting facility annual or formal inspections. Any other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years' experience as a Detention Officer, or 1 year experience as a Quality Control Officer Required to possess a New York State Security License before hire Valid Driver's License with clean driving record, able to drive company vehicles. Must be a US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the US for permanent residence Must have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty) Must meet ACA and 2011 PBNDS (2016 Revision) requirements Must have in-depth knowledge of ACA standards and 2011 PBNDS (2016 Revision) requirements. Have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following: a) The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public. b) Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations. All personnel shall be literate and be able to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and must be able to compose reports c) Good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his/her position responsibilities. d) Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress, such as fires, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations. Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental US Pass a drug screen Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment and annual thereafter Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in English both orally and in writing; Computer skills including proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint Organizational skills commensurate with position To obtain and maintain a favorable determination from a US government background screening. Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have actual ICE detention experience or corrections compliance/quality assurance officer experience. Proficiency in Spanish language. Associates degree in associated field. Supervision No supervision with this position. Work is performed in a detention environment, may be subject to temperature and noise level changes. Work areas will include all areas of the secured facility, and often works alone. Works where slips & trips may occur frequently and often exposed to sharp objects. Is often exposed to blood borne pathogens. Exposed to maximum heat of 100 degrees, and cold of minimum 25 degrees with some noise and chemicals, in a moist or dry environment with exposure to sun, rain, and snow. Overall demands of this position are moderate. Physical Demands (including but not limited to): May be required to bend and stoop frequently and occasionally kneel or crouch. Often climbs stairs and works with arms above the shoulder. Required to lift 50 lbs or less frequently and often lifts 50-65 lbs.
