We are recruiting a Court Clerk to perform advanced work using an electronic filing system in the Missouri State Court System. Responsibilities include court case processing which may require independent judgment and application of statutes, policies, and regulations with minimal supervision. The role requires frequent interaction with the public, excellent customer service, and financial record keeping within an automated case?management system.

• Performs case processing in receiving and initiating case files; reviews judgments, prepares warrants, summonses, garnishments and executions, bond settings, and controls docket.
• Reviews legal documents for necessary information, determines required processing and takes action according to court rules, demonstrating detailed knowledge of applicable terminology, rules, and procedures.
• Handles accounting duties, receives and disburses monies, reconciles financial accounts, and prepares daily and monthly financial reports.
• Prepares various documents related to court operations, including court orders, calendars, notices of hearings, appearances, and reports; coordinates document flow required for court assignments; queues electronically filed proceedings for processing.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from a higher?learning institution and one year of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties.

Additional experience above the minimum may be substituted on a year?for?year basis for the required education.

Evidence and testimony that may be disturbing, such as photographs of violent scenes, victims, sexually explicit material, syringes, drugs, weapons, blood, and potential verbal or physical abuse from the public, allergens (perfumes, dust), and unpleasant odors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of court procedures, policies, legal documents, laws, and legal factors pertaining to the court.
• Basic knowledge of organization operations, functions, and scope of authority of the court.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle a high?volume workload in a changing, high?stress environment.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with general policy and objectives.
• Ability to maintain complex records and prepare reports from an automated system.
