The CRNA’s primary responsibilities includes the anesthetic management of unconscious patients, pre, intra and postoperative evaluation of these patients, the protection of life functions and vital organs, the medical management of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. CRNAs collaborate with physicians and other professionals while overseeing the use of anesthesia in medical procedures.Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:1. The preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative evaluation of patients undergoing surgical or diagnostic procedures to include educating patients about their surgery and recovery.2. Preparing anesthetic for patients and administering medication to include the application of spinal, epidural, regional, general or monitored anesthesia care techniques.3. Monitoring a patient’s vitals and adjusting anesthesia levels during procedures and overseeing the patient’s safety as they recover from anesthesia.4. Working with other medical staff to develop pain management plans. Overseeing patients who are rendered unconscious and insensible to pain and emotional stress during their procedures.5. The management of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, perioperative pulmonary care and management of airway in elective or emergent situations.6. The anesthetic management of patients who are rendered unconscious and insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgical, and certain other medical procedures.7.
