Summary

The Director Core Lending IT leads the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of Teachers Federal Credit Union’s core lending platforms, including Fiserv Velocity (Loan Application), Temenos (Collections Application), Mortgagebot (Consumer Mortgages), Bakerhill (Commercial Lending).

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience required).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT program/project management, with at least 5+ years focused on core banking technologies.
  • Proven expertise with automated testing and API-driven testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Fiserv Velocity, Temenos, Bakerhill, and Finastra’s Mortgagebot preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of banking and lending operations, business process reengineering, systems integration, and SDLC best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with a track record of stakeholder engagement and cross-functional influence.

Job Duties

  • Collaborates with lending stakeholders, technology, and vendor stakeholders to deliver a robust, secure, and scalable core lending environment aligned to the Credit Union’s mission of delivering exceptional member experiences.
  • Strategic Leadership & Roadmap Management
  • Drive the strategic roadmap for Teachers FCU’s core lending environment in partnership with the VP of Enterprise Applications and Data.
  • Identify innovation opportunities and system enhancements to support evolving business needs and member experience improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendor partners to influence product direction and prioritize feature delivery.
  • Lead Innovation and AI Driven Lending Transformation and bring predictive model integrations to lending platforms
  • Focus on transforming the end-to-end lending life-cycle through AI and automation
  • Champion the integration of AI, Machine Learning, and advanced analytics to enhance underwriting, credit decisioning and collection processes
  • System Operations & Project Execution
  • Oversee daily and weekly operations of the core lending ecosystem, including Velocity, Temenos, Bakerhill and Finastra-Mortgagebot.
  • Lead implementation and integration of business process and technology changes within the core lending landscape.
  • Coordinate project management functions including scope, planning, budgeting, resource alignment, risk management, and executive reporting.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Direct automated and manual testing efforts to ensure functional and regression integrity in support of software releases.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in test planning, execution, and quality governance across teams and initiatives.
  • Oversee disaster recovery testing and core system failover protocols to ensure high availability and resiliency.
  • Team & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Foster strong partnerships across IT, security, operations, risk, and business units to ensure successful delivery of core solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for core banking technologies, offering technical guidance to team members and internal clients.

The good faith range for this position is $136,000-$170,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

All candidates will be subject to a background check, credit check, and drug test to determine employment eligibility.
