JOB DESCRIPTION:


Provide effective communication between the school, the District, the student's family, and appropriate public agencies. Provide oral and written communication from Spanish/English and English/Spanish for various meetings, documents, and activities. Administer and score language proficiency surveys.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


Ability to maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district personnel
Ability to fluently read, write, and speak in English and Spanish
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English and Spanish
Demonstrated skills in writing, proofreading, and editing
Excellent public relations, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Knowledge of Google Apps for Education
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to meet established deadlines
Ability to perform a variety of tasks with little or no direction


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Translate both written and verbal communication from English to Spanish and Spanish to English
2. Provide interpretations as required by phone conferences or in person.
3. Translate special education documents.
4. Proofread translated material and provide feedback.
5. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, correspondence and other documents as required.
6. Administer and score language proficiency surveys.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


Clerical experience preferred
