Education Specialist Requisition ID: req34890 Working Title: Education Specialist Position Grade: 11 Are you passionate about working with students, faculty, and staff to advance healthcare education in New Mexico? The Physician Assistant (PA) Program in the Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking a collaborative, people-oriented Educational Specialist for didactic educational coordination and support. This position will work closely with PA Program students, faculty, and staff in support of the 18-month didactic (classroom) portion of the curriculum, as well as with events throughout the program. Primary duties will include didactic curriculum student and faculty support, event coordination, purchasing, outreach, assisting accreditation documentation and logistics, and other functions to support the PA Program’s mission of educating PA students to become exemplary providers with a focus on primary care medicine for the underserved and rural populations of New Mexico. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Didactic curriculum support – support faculty and student success in meeting program and accreditation requirements during the classroom portion of training: Support faculty and students with classroom sessions Oversee coordination of online learning systems Coordinate course schedules and student registration for didactic courses Proctor exams, arrange exam reviews, schedule rooms, and manage calendars Event planning – coordinate events promoting a culture of student success and community engagement: Plan and manage key events (e.g., white coat ceremony, convocation, retreats) Coordinate alumni and preceptor engagement events Organize new student orientation Track event-related purchases Accreditation support - in addition to the above duties supporting accreditation in the didactic curriculum, support the program's continued accreditation: Work with faculty on curriculum mapping to demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards Coordinate accreditation site visit logistics Collaborate with PA Program staff to assist with maintenance of documentation, data entry, and compliance tracking Prospective student outreach/recruitment - support the PA Program’s growth by expanding recruitment, outreach, and admission efforts: Recruit diverse student populations to the PA Program through outreach initiatives across the university and the state Work with staff and faculty to support the admission process Support incoming students through the onboarding process Other duties: Connect with alumni and preceptors to encourage ongoing engagement with the program, including fundraising coordination Manage the program’s social media accounts Support the Physician Assistant Student Society Provide backup for administrative tasks (e.g., scheduling, minutes) Perform other duties as assigned See the Position Description for additional information. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
