Position: Estate Manager
Location: Southampton, NY
Schedule: Full-Time, Year-Round (Heavy summer schedule, quieter winter)
Compensation: $200,000 ++ per year plus benefits, based on experience
Our client is seeking a highly capable, emotionally intelligent Estate Manager to lead the operations of a newly built, top-tier private estate in Southampton, which is currently in the final stages of construction. The ideal candidate has experience managing high-end, complex properties and thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. They are hands-on, organized, discreet, and deeply familiar with residential operations, vendor management, and seasonal household rhythms. Comfort on the water is essential, as is the ability to support and supervise a wide range of activities across the property. Candidates should bring a calm, proactive mindset, communicate clearly and professionally, and be willing to obtain all necessary certifications, including a boating license and firearm permit as needed.
Please note: familiarity with the Hamptons and its vendors is a strong plus. We are looking for local candidates at this time (or at least someone with strong ties to the area). Housing will not be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations and care of a large estate, including the main residence, tennis pavilion, garage, pool, gym, and other recreational structures
Act as the primary liaison for all vendors, contractors, and seasonal service providers
Manage a 12-seater boat, jet skis, and other watercraft; assist with pickups and water sport support
Hire, train, and supervise household staff, including housekeepers and groundskeepers
Support the household during busy summer and holiday periods, including occasional events and frequent guest activity
Implement and oversee systems for household operations and smart home technologies
Maintain property inventory and coordinate sourcing or purchasing as needed
Complete the required training and obtain proper licensing to develop the knowledge needed to support the on-site gun range
Additional Details: Heavy summer schedule with extended hours when the residence is in use by the principals and their adult children
Quiet winter schedule with time for planning, maintenance, and operations refinement
No travel required outside Southampton
Relocation may be considered for exceptional candidates, especially for those with local Southampton experience
Qualifications and Skills: Must be local to the Hamptons or have strong ties (and housing) in the area
At least 7+ years of experience working as an Estate Manager with proven longevity in previous roles with private employers
Strong preference for someone with Yacht Captain experience
Must either hold or be willing to obtain a boating license
Must either already hold or be willing to obtain a firearm license
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with principals, guests, and staff members
Familiarity with Southampton vendors, service providers, and suppliers is an advantage
Knowledge of inventory management and procurement practices
Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage a team effectively
Highly dependable, reliable, and proactive with a strong ability to work independently while maintaining seamless communication with the client and team
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
Compensation and Benefits: $200,000++ per year | DOE
