This is a newly created role with significant impact. Based in Birmingham and responsible for roughly $2 million in fleet and equipment assets across the region, you’ll have the runway to shape systems, reduce costs, and improve safety. With support from the leadership team and insight from key players like Jesus, you’ll help define what excellence in fleet management looks like for this growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track all company vehicles and equipment across multiple branches.
  • Assist in purchasing new trucks, mowers, and equipment as needed.
  • Monitor service schedules and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Travel to other branches every six weeks to ensure maintenance compliance and asset condition.
  • Maintain accurate records for fleet operations, including servicing logs and insurance claims.
  • Enforce shop and yard safety practices and drive accountability across all locations.
  • Build and refine systems for tracking hours on equipment like mowers and other assets.
  • React swiftly to repair and replacement needs to prevent operational downtime.
  • Help build out the scope and structure of this newly created position.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fleet and equipment management (landscape industry experience a plus, not required).
  • Ability to create systems and track asset usage, costs, and maintenance.
  • Strategic, preventative thinker who can also be reactive when needed.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, evolving environment.
  • Strong record-keeping and communication skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to branches every six weeks.

This Is More Than a Fleet Job:

You’ll report to the Birmingham office but serve a broader operational mission. With roughly 120 vehicles and a major investment in field equipment under your watch, the goal is clear: extend asset life, reduce unnecessary cost, and elevate safety. The position is brand new, which means your ideas, systems, and leadership will shape how this role grows with the company.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary : $70,000 – $80,000
  • Bonus Potential : Structure TBD
  • Benefits : Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and holidays
