Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance professional ensures that all food safety policies and product quality standards are consistently followed in the food manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the QA Manager, this role liaises with auditors, customers, third parties, and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance, support continuous improvement, and uphold food safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport production and supervisory staff in maintaining compliance with GMP and HACCP programs; report any non-conformances to the QA Manager.
Conduct on-floor quality checks and internal audits to ensure compliance with FDA standards and company procedures.
Lead food safety and quality training for QA technicians, including onboarding and annual training programs.
Manage HACCP documentation, verification, and corrective actions; assist with updates to SOPs and specifications as required.
Collect and submit microbiological and chemical samples for lab testing and ensure results meet standards.
Maintain supplier information and ensure all incoming materials comply with food safety requirements.
Perform routine factory and warehouse audits, including pre-operational inspections.
Investigate non-conformances and ensure corrective actions (CAs) are implemented in a timely manner.
Assist with customer complaint investigations and documentation review.
Conduct trend analysis on quality and safety data and present results to management.
Monitor pre- and post-operational inspections and collaborate with Sanitation, Maintenance, and Production teams.
Assist with updates to the Safety Culture program and maintain related documentation.
Serve as backup SQF Practitioner as needed.
Post-secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, Public Health, Biology, or related field (preferred).
Knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, and HACCP systems.
Previous leadership experience, preferably in a food processing facility.
Excellent communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
HACCP plant experience preferred.
