Kountoupes Denham Carr & Reid is a bipartisan lobbying firm in Washington, DC, representing public and private companies, trade associations, and non-profit organizations before Congress and the federal government. Our firm is comprised of a bipartisan and bicameral team of lobbyists who have spent decades in Washington working on legislative issues at the highest levels of government.

KDCR Partners is accepting applications for a paid internship for Fall 2025. Fall internships can be full-time or part-time, depending on school schedules , but interns must be available most of the day Tuesdays-Thursdays each week . This internship will be in-person in our Washington, D.C. office.

Duties Include:

• Provide legislative and administrative support for six legislative assistants, 11 principals and office administrator at a rapidly expanding lobbying firm with clientele that includes Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and non-profit organizations
• Attend (virtually) hearings, markups, briefings and other events on behalf of the firm, produce high quality briefing materials, issues summaries and meeting notes.
• Track legislation and regulations for clients
• Assist with scheduling of virtual meetings on the Hill and virtual “fly-ins” for large and small groups
• Conduct research on policy issues, legislative action, business development, and other issues, and draft concise summaries.
• Assist with other administrative tasks related to office operations and client service.

Requirements:

• Junior, senior or recent college graduate
• Self-starter and quick learner
• Excellent writing and research skills and a strong detail-orientation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask and handle tedious administrative tasks
• Some experience working on Capitol Hill or in a lobbying firm/trade association is preferred but not required
• Nimble and curious with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor
