We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team for a 2–3 month project in Louisville, KY . This role will primarily involve operating excavators and skid steers with a focus on pulling trench boxes and assisting with excavation tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in underground utility or trenching work and a strong commitment to job site safety and productivity.

Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator & Skid Steer) job duties:

  • Safely operate excavators and skid steers on active construction sites
  • Pull and set trench boxes for excavation and underground utility work
  • Load and move earth, gravel, or other materials as needed
  • Follow trench safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew members
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite

Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator & Skid Steer) job requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavator/skid steer)
  • Proven experience working with trench boxes
  • Ability to read site plans and follow instructions accurately
  • Strong understanding of job site safety protocols
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Willingness to work overtime if required
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred (but not required)
