Midlevel Intellectual Property Associate – Houston, Seattle, or New York

Direct Counsel is representing an Amlaw 100 firm. We are seeking a midlevel Intellectual Property Associate to join the Houston, Seattle, or New York office. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience in patent litigation, with experience in life sciences and representing pharmaceutical companies preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research

• Draft substantive pleadings and motions

• Manage written and expert discovery

• Participate in depositions and hearings (preferred)

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Admission to a state bar and in good standing

• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience

• Experience in Hatch-Waxman or other life sciences patent litigation preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong legal writing and analytical abilities

• Deposition experience preferred

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude

• Eagerness to learn and grow professionally

• Preferably holds a degree in a life science field or is eligible to sit for the Patent Bar Exam

Associates will work closely with senior attorneys and will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility based on performance. Strong academic and professional credentials are required.

Compensation:
Base Salary: $225,000 – $310,000 / year
