Justice Court Clerk

Location: Roosevelt County Complex - Culbertson, Montana

Note: No offer of employment will be issued to a candidate until after completion of a criminal history and background check. Supervised by the Roosevelt County Justice of Peace.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

General Administrative

• Assists in administering civil and criminal proceedings and docketing.
• Ensures that all information regarding a file is entered accurately in the case management system.
• Performs primary filing of papers, dockets, case files, record maintenance and case-related correspondence.
• Prepares reports to various criminal justice agencies and processes Failure to Pay, Failure to Comply and Failure to Appear notices.
• Maintains Judge's and Court's calendar and prepares daily schedule. Schedules and confirms hearings, trials, etc. on the Judge's calendar and receives and schedules visitors. Arrange meetings as required.
• Answers telephone calls, screens callers, takes messages also act
