Job Description & RequirementsOne of our Partners in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide day-shift locum coverage in their Neuroscience ICU . This is an inpatient-only ICU role supporting a high-acuity neuroscience service at a Level I Trauma Center.
\n\nPay ranking: This assignment is structured at a Top 15% pay ranking compared to similar NSICU PA/ACNP locum roles based on 2025 market data , depending on final rate selection.
\n\nProviders must be able to arrive the day prior to the first shift for orientation .
\n\n\n Assignment Highlights \n\nDay shifts only: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
\n\t\n\tBlock scheduling across three defined coverage periods
\n\t\n\tNo call
\n\t\n\tNo ER coverage
\n\t\n\tInpatient ICU responsibilities only
\n\t\n\tResponds to inpatient codes
\n\t\n\tIntegrated EPIC EMR
\n\t\n\tPrepaid travel and lodging
\n\t\n\tMalpractice insurance provided
\n\t\n\tHPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission–certified agency
\n\t\nProvide day-shift coverage in the Neuroscience ICU
\n\t\n\tManage ICU-level neurological patients
\n\t\n\tPerform and manage:
\n\n\t \n\t\tArterial lines
\n\t\t\n\t\tCentral lines
\n\t\t\n\t\tLumbar punctures
\n\t\t\n\t\tVentilator management
\n\t\t\n\tParticipate in multidisciplinary ICU rounds
\n\t\n\tRespond to inpatient codes
\n\t\n\tCollaborate with neurosurgery, neurology, neurointensivists, nursing, and ancillary teams
\n\t\n\tDocument all care in EPIC
\n\t\n\n\n\n Skills & Experience \n\nPhysician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
\n\t\n\tAcute Care certification required
\n\t\n\tMinimum 1 year of ICU or acute care experience
\n\t\n\tComfortable with ICU procedures and ventilator management
\n\t\n\tStrong communication and team-based care skills
