We are looking for Mental Health Therapists to support our Child-Welfare Programs at Lifelong Inc.

About us:

Lifelong, Inc. is dedicated to empowering clients with intellectual, development autism, and learning disabilities, traumatic or acquired brain injuries, spectrum conditions, or those who have not found success with previous providers.

We collaborate closely with human services departments, local community centered boards CCBs, and probation offices to deliver comprehensive care.

We offer a wide range of services to individuals with physical, sensory, learning, intellectual, or mental health disabilities. We seek applicants who embrace innovation while focusing on supporting their clients in the way they learn best.

Experience with child protection agencies and/or community centered boards is advantageous. We maintain contract relationships with all major county human service agencies.

About the role:

The Mental Health Therapist role involves conducting intakes, evaluations, providing mental health therapy, and life skills training such as money management, daily scheduling and structuring, and daily living activities.

Additionally, the position includes facilitating therapeutic supervised visits between parents and their children. These services are delivered within the community, at our office, and at local Department of Human Services buildings, with regular travel to client sessions required. While weekend availability is highly preferred, it is not mandatory.

Lifelong also offers clients a variety of other services, including Adventure Based Therapy, College Student Support, Job Coaching, Evaluations and Assessments, ABA Therapy, Foster Care Forums, Play Therapy, and Case Management.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct intakes, evaluations, and mental health therapy.
  • Provide life skills training (e.g., money management, daily schedule structuring, etc.).
  • Provide Mental Health therapy.
  • Engage in therapeutic supervised visitation between parents and children.
  • Services are offered in the community, office settings, and local Department of Human Service buildings.
  • Travel to client sessions is a regular part of the role.
  • Weekend availability is highly desired but not required.
  • Other Services Provided include but are not limited to: Adventure Based Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, College Student Support, Job Coaching, Evaluations and Assessments, ABA Therapy, Foster Care Forums, Play Therapy, and Case Management.

Qualifications of the role include:

  • Master's degree (Required) in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • An excellent driving record.
  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of a specialized population.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in individual or family therapy services.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages or certifications such as CAC II, CAC III, or LAC is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods during client sessions and administrative work.
  • Capability to move between different locations, including traveling to client homes and community sites.
  • Adequate vision and hearing to conduct assessments, observe client behavior, and engage in effective communication.
  • Manual dexterity for writing and typing client notes and reports.
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations and maintain emotional stability while providing support to clients.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying materials or equipment up to 20 pounds.
