Night-Shift Superintendent – Commercial Construction

Our client, a highly reputable mid-sized General Contractor, is seeking a Night-Shift Superintendent to join their team on a major downtown Columbus high-rise interior fit-out . This is a chance to step into a stable role with a respected GC that offers strong project pipelines and long-term career progression.

Role Overview:

The Night-Shift Superintendent will oversee interior construction activities during evening hours, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. You’ll primarily be coordinating and monitoring subcontractors on scopes such as framing, drywall, painting, HVAC, carpentry, and finishes . This role is critical in keeping the project on schedule while maintaining a safe and productive environment.

Key Details:

• Shift will typically run 6–9 PM through 3–7 AM
• Expect to remain on night shift for the next 12+ months , with transition back to day shift in the future
• Focused on commercial projects (high-rise, healthcare, education, office, retail, civic, etc.) – no residential work
• Downtown Columbus project location

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and trades during night hours
• Monitor quality, schedule, and safety compliance on-site
• Enforce a safety-first culture in line with company and OSHA standards
• Report daily progress and issues to the lead Superintendent/Project Manager
• Troubleshoot and resolve jobsite challenges in real time

Requirements:

• Proven field experience in commercial construction (Superintendent, Foreman, or similar)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades at once
• Commitment to a drug-free workplace and must be able to pass a background check
• Safety-focused mindset
