Nocturnist Hospitalist Physician Assistant in Richardson, Texas

Schedule: 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off, 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Rotating schedule of cross coverage or admissions for the hospitalist group

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is a 325-bed, acute-care hospital serving the Richardson and surrounding communities. With the growth of our hospital, our Hospitalist team is seeking two dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) nocturnist to join us. This is a unique opportunity for APPs who thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous environment and are passionate about providing patient care during the nighttime hours. You will be supported by our experienced Hospitalist physicians ensuring readily available backup. We foster a collaborative and supportive environment where APPs are valued members of the team.

Job Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program with a master's preferred
• Graduate of an approved accredited Physician Assistant program
• Recognition as an Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Current Licensure by the Board of Medical Examiners to practice as a Physician Assistant
• Two (2) years’ experience preferred
• Must be current in CPR and ACLS certified

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients during nighttime hours.
• Respond to all floor calls and rapid responses promptly and efficiently.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and document findings accurately.
• Admit patients from the Emergency Department between 12:00 AM and 7:00 AM, performing history and physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, and initiating treatment.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and other healthcare
• Maintain accurate medical records and follows the standard practices of
• Provide patient and family education regarding their condition and treatments
• Stay up to date on evidence-based practices relevant to hospital medicine and follow hospital- based protocols
• Note: No procedures are required. The ICU team is available 24/7 for critical care needs.
