Job Title: Orthodox Musician

Location:  Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide music as specified by the Chaplain in charge, including vocal music for attendees, community singing, and Holy Liturgy at Liturgical Services.
• Participate in rehearsals as directed.
• Ensure timely setup and preparation of equipment before services.
• Collaborate on musical selections with the Service Chaplain for approval.
• Provide arranged, improved, and scored music for compatibility with the worship service.
• Lead the congregation in worship music as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Familiarity with Orthodox liturgical worship.
• Minimum of three years of experience in chanting or music.
• Degree in music and/or certification by appropriate professional organizations is desired.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Orthodox Church music director/lead cantor or two years serving in a worship orthodox choir.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting vocal scores and selecting music appropriate for Orthodox worship.
