What You'll Do At Pega

• Be an integral part of a team that analyzes performance profiles of enterprise software on the Pega Cloud and helps define performance best practices and governance policies.
• Develop tools and practices for infrastructure performance monitoring and resiliency testing.
• Work closely with capacity planning and operations teams to understand their needs and translate them into clearly defined requirements.
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies and determine applicability to current and future projects and markets.
• Provide performance oversight, review, assistance, and guidance to teams while they work on delivering new features.
• Communicate effectively with developers and product owners about performance analysis, presenting alternative approaches and plans when appropriate.
• Work within an Agile framework

Who You Are

You are a performance engineer having experience in building scalable cloud-native systems and passionate about exploring and applying this to help solve real business problems.

• 6+ years of software development experience, preferably in a product development company.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Be able to implement solutions that meet engineering excellence standards with minimal oversight
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM
• Experience deploying software in containers such as Docker
• Experience designing software to scale using containers and services
• Experience with performance analysis on clouds such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience with Database, including both relational (PostgreSQL or Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra)
• Experience with applications in clustered deployments and distributed systems
• Experience with SCM including git and GitHub
• Programming language expertise in Java (required), with knowledge of Golang, Pega Platform, or AWS Cloud beneficial
• Experience with J2EE, Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform
• Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills and must be a fast learner.

What You've Accomplished

• Overall experience of 6+ years in developing and scaling applications, preferably in a product development company.
• Designed and implemented highly available, scalable cloud-native systems
• Strong knowledge in performance analysis, infrastructure monitoring, and capacity planning
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product Managers to align business goals with implementation results.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field.
