Your new company

A well-established general contractor with a growing presence in the Katy, TX market is seeking a Project Executive (PX) to join their team. This office was launched two years ago to support repeat client business and has quickly become a hub for high-quality commercial construction projects.

Your new role

The Project Executive will lead multiple ground-up commercial construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational and client-facing capabilities.

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple ground-up commercial construction projects, each valued at up to $30M.
  • Manage project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of project managers, superintendents, and field staff to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to foster collaboration and repeat business.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide strategic input on project staffing, resource allocation, and operational improvements.
  • Actively participate in project reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving to keep projects on track.
  • Utilize project management software (Procore, MS Project) to monitor progress, generate reports, and maintain documentation.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the professional development of the project team.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, site visits, and executive-level discussions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in commercial construction, specifically within ground-up retail projects and fit outs valued at up to $30m
  • Familiarity with construction practices in Texas and surrounding states
  • Strong ability to manage high-volume workloads and multiple priorities
  • Proficient in reading architectural and MEP drawings, and interpreting contract documents
  • Solid understanding of building codes, OSHA standards, and trade coordination
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights/weekends as needed
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated leadership, confidence, and independence in project execution
