Our client, a trusted construction company based in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a Proposal Writer with a strong foundation in writing, research, and storytelling. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in English, communications, or journalism who is looking to apply their writing skills in a fast-paced, professional environment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of producing clear, persuasive content tailored to various client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft clear, compelling, and customized proposal content for RFPs, RFQs, and EOIs across multiple sectors
• Collaborate with business development, estimating, and operations teams to gather project-specific information and technical insights
• Conduct background research to support proposal narratives and align with client expectations
• Tailor boilerplate material and create new content that reflects the company's brand and voice
• Ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with submission guidelines
• Assist with editing, proofreading, and formatting documents to ensure a polished final product
• Support the maintenance of the content library, including resumes, case studies, and project descriptions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
• 1–3 years of professional writing experience, ideally in proposals, grant writing, marketing, or similar fields
• Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar, structure, and clarity
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with Adobe InDesign is an asset
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
