Salary:

The Public Relations & Events Manager will play a pivotal role in representing one of the Valleys largest groups of automotive dealerships. This individual will oversee event planning and execution, manage media relations, and act as a bilingual spokesperson for clients in both community and media-facing settings. The ideal candidate will be well-spoken, highly organized, and well-connected in the Arizona community, bringing strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Event Leadership & Execution: Manage and oversee event planning, staffing, and execution across the Valley, ensuring all details are flawlessly coordinated and aligned with client objectives.
  • Spokesperson Duties: Serve as an on-camera and community-facing representative for clients, delivering key messages with confidence and professionalism.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships within the Arizona community, including local charities, civic groups, and media outlets.
  • Media Relations: Proactively pitch stories and manage press opportunities to secure coverage of client events; coordinate with local news stations and reporters to maximize visibility.
  • Team Management: Lead event teams, vendors, and on-site staff to ensure seamless coordination during client activations.
  • Client Communication: Provide regular updates to clients regarding event progress, media coverage, and community partnerships, addressing challenges with proactive solutions.
  • Project Management: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure all projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
    Evening/Weekend Flexibility: Support events outside traditional office hours as needed, ensuring client needs are consistently met.
  • Special Projects: Handle ad-hoc assignments and cross-team collaboration to support the success of both the client and the agency.

Reporting Relationship: This position will report to senior leaders within both the Public Relations and Account Services teams, who will provide mentorship, oversight, and support for career development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in public relations and/or event management.
  • Community Knowledge: Strong understanding of the full Arizona community, including local charities, cultural organizations, and media outlets (including Hispanic/Latino).
  • Spokesperson Skills: Ability to represent clients confidently on-camera, at events, and in the community.
  • Media Experience: Demonstrated success pitching and managing media coverage for events.
  • Bilingual: Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with project management tools. Comfort with AI tools is a plus.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work mornings, evenings and weekends when events require.
  • Accountability & Leadership: Strong sense of responsibility, ability to lead event teams, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • General automotive sales knowledge.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle and pull a trailer to events.
  • Proven spokesperson experience with local or national media.
  • Strong social media following.
  • Experience working with diverse communities in the Phoenix metro area, including the Hispanic community.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during events (up to 810 hours).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 4050 lbs. (such as event equipment, signage, boxes, and supplies).
  • Comfortable with frequent bending, reaching, and moving equipment during event setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to travel locally within the Valley for event execution and client representation.

  • Status: Full-time (40 hours/week) with flexibility for evening and weekend events.
