Arc Games is seeking a Public Relations Associate to join its team in the Redwood Shores office, to work on communication activations for select highly anticipated video games from its upcoming portfolio. The ideal candidate should be a gamer, who is passionate about the industry and stays abreast of current affairs and is willing to learn about public relations and the games business. The candidate will learn to combine gaming industry knowledge with the latest trends to drive creative and innovative ideas across all marketing channels, with a focus on public relations. The role will participate in developing PR and communication campaigns for go-to-market plans, monitoring campaign performance across channels and learn to provide opinions on how to improve our programs, for the purposes of bringing in gamers and growing our business. The Public Relations Associate will also learn to understand the importance of working with press and partners, and will learn how to use metrics to optimize campaigns and demonstrate ROI. For every stage of Arc Games’ titles – from pre-launch to post-launch – the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on Arc Games’ portfolio, including upcoming titles. PR plays a key role in Arc Games’s integrated marketing programs, and the candidate will help shape each program. Strong interpersonal skills are required as the role will closely work with stakeholders across brand marketing, first and third party partners, social media, data, platform engineering, advertising media, creative, product management and our game developers. Note the role will require some travel for video game events and business meetings. Responsibilities & Job Duties: Alongside the Public Relations Manager, help develop public relations campaigns that support Arc Games’ marketing programs. Cultivate media and creator/influencer support for titles throughout each phase of a campaign. Support the development and execution of go-to-market (GTM) plans for all of our titles, ensuring plans are aligned with marketing strategies, company goals and target KPIs for each title. Assist with planning and managing our presence at video game events, including full-scale in-person events along with digital showcases. Additionally, help build and maintain an events calendar with upcoming events. Help create, manage and distribute PR materials, including but not limited to press releases, press kits, fact sheets, talking points, and work cross-functionally with the Brand and Community teams on public-facing messaging, such as marketing materials, blogs, eBlasts, community updates and more to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Source and coordinate assets for use in print and online publications. Work with PR agencies on global communication efforts, including media relations, media outreach, coverage analysis and research. Play a key role in tracking, measuring, and reporting on the success of public relations campaigns, to help the team adjust strategies to optimize results, improve campaign effectiveness and increase brand impact. Assist with partner relations, including activations with 1st and 3rd partners for promotional opportunities for our titles. Build and retain strong relationships with the video game studio development teams, media outlets, influencers/creators and partners we work with. Support the development and execution of corporate communication opportunities to further drive company awareness. Assess, recommend and manage tools and resources to improve team’s day to day operations as needed. Play milestone builds of games in development and provide analysis and long-term strategic thinking to the product management team, through the lens of PR opportunities. Requirements: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including cross-functional management experience. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to sell one’s ideas and negotiate passion for PC and console games. The ability to be team-focused, and proactively be able to complete independent projects. Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other related fields. 1-2 years of video game public relations experience in PC, console, premium and/or live service. Demonstrable experience in building public relations campaigns. Experience working with agencies or cross functional teams. Detail oriented and proficient with AP style. Is an active gamer.
