POSITION SUMMARY
The FSQA Manager/Supervisor reports directly to the Quality Director. The FSQA professional will establish and maintain a Quality System that effectively results in company compliance with applicable requirements, including FSMA, HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, Supplier Approval, third party audits, customer requirements, Organic Certification, Kosher Certification and any future food-related certifications as they arise. This professional must have worked within cultured dairy, pasteurized beverages or aseptic filling environments. There is imminent exponential growth within the company.
Responsibilities
- Act as a main point of contact for 3rd party certifying agencies for Kosher, Organic, and Vegan certifications.
- Maintain Approved Supplier List and all associated documentation from Suppliers.
- Work with QA Manager on compliance with SQF, SOPs, GMPs, FSMA, Food Defense, Organic, Vegan and Kosher certifications, third party audit and customer requirements.
- Perform routine monitoring and verification activities to assure compliance with all Quality System policies, procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish an internal Audit schedule and process to ensure compliance with SQF Code.
- Work with QA and R&D teams to create, maintain, and organize finished product specifications, plant-trial requests, and other applicable documentation.
- Liaison with sanitation team to document and organize all SOPs, SSOPs, and GMPs
- Partner with QA Manager to maintain records and ensure compliance for all GMP, sanitation, and food safety training.
- Partner with QA Manager to establish, document and maintain a Workplace Safety program that effectively results in company compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including OSHA.
- Experience updating and implement QA systems including Food Safety Plan, Food Defense Plan, Recall Plan, Shipping and Receiving protocols, SQF or BRC framework, Corrective Actions, etc. is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will have an associate degree or equivalent plus a basic understanding of food science, microbiology, food process engineering, or similar plus a minimum of 3 years of QA experience in the non-Dairy, Dairy, Cultured, and/or Pasteurized Beverage / Aseptic Filling industry. Additional qualifications include:
- Exceptional organizational, detail-oriented and planning skills.
- Knowledge and track record of successful involvement in developing SQF or other GFSI Audit schemes.
- Have experience and understanding of Quality Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and other computer systems.
- Strong verbal and written skills essential.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and create meaningful solutions to complex problems is needed.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and changing entrepreneurial environment.
- Be willing and motivated to spend time on the manufacturing floor working with employees and leadership team; demonstrated willingness to assist others to develop solutions and metrics.
- Must be able to be flexible to changing priorities and schedules.
- Certification and/or training in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) needed.
- Must be a Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI certified) or obtain PCQ Certification within 60 days from date of hire.
- SQF practitioner certification is preferred.
