Job Description

Please note : This position is based in our Plano, TX office and will service our North Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana markets. The role requires 1-2 days per week in the Plano, TX office and more than 50% weekly travel throughout the local market, with occasional out-of-state travel and overnights. The Regional Sales Director (RSD) role is a field-based Supplemental Health sales position that partners with the field sales and account management teams to drive product growth. This role is aligned by geography and manages all supplemental health opportunities for designated Cigna sales office(s). Key areas of expertise include: Product solutions : Accidental Injury (AI), Critical Illness (CI), Hospital Indemnity (HI), and related pricing and underwriting strategies. Enrollment solutions: Internal capabilities and external options. Administrative solutions : Billing and claims processes. The RSD is responsible for proactive, consultative outreach into local markets to increase knowledge of our Supplemental Health solutions. They also manage relationships with external supplemental health sales experts, brokers, and consultants. More specifically, the RSD will : Develop and execute market-level distribution strategies in partnership with market leadership, focusing on clients with 250 to 500 lives, considering broker relationships, growth strategies, competitive intelligence, local trends, and product strategies. Participate in finalist meetings, negotiate with underwriting, conduct seminars, and perform other activities to support market strategies. Collaborate with matrix partners and participate in internal calls to align sales needs with operations, sharing market feedback to improve underwriting, pricing, and enrollment processes. Goal Attainment : The RSD will be accountable for meeting supplemental health sales goals, including new business, existing business, and persistency bonuses. Incentive Compensation: The RSD role is eligible for incentive compensation, with details outlined in the annual plan. Components may include achievement of sales and retention goals, internal expectations, territory management, execution of market strategies, and collaboration with matrix partners. Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 5 years of relevant industry experience. Proven track record of consistently delivering business results. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. Strong collaboration skills, ability to value diverse perspectives, and gain support for proposals. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with executive presence.
