Development of Central Florida, Inc. is a growing underground utility and civil construction contractor specializing in water, sewer, storm, and duct bank infrastructure projects across both public and private sectors. Position Overview:
The Safety & Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing field safety practices, ensuring adherence to OSHA and local regulations, conducting site audits, training field staff, and supporting overall risk management. This is a critical role for promoting a safety-first culture across all projects.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDOT, EPA, and company safety policies

· Lead incident investigations and track corrective actions

· Manage and maintain safety documentation, training records, and SDS

· Observe or deliver field safety meetings and toolbox talks

· Support environmental compliance (SWPPP, MOT, etc.)

· Work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to promote best practices

Assist in the development and enforcement of safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

· 1-2 years of experience in construction safety (heavy civil preferred)

· Knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and Florida construction regulations

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and travel to job sites as needed

· OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety certifications preferred

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
