Job Summary: Performs professional work within district multi-tiered system of support through obtaining and analyzing data to determine social-emotional needs of students. Serves as a liaison/link between students and federal, state and local social and community support programs. Serves as building homeless liaison. VISTA Education Center has a small caseload of students. Work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Special Services. Provide basic and comprehensive services to individual students and families which would include: Assist in diagnosing students' needs; Provides crisis intervention and prevention for families and students; Collaborates with school nurse, community agencies and industry professionals to meet individual student needs; Conducts interviews to obtain student social history; Refers students to and serves as a liaison with outside agencies; Conducts home visits when necessary; Assist students with social-emotional learning. Qualifications: Hold a baccalaureate degree from a college or university that is accredited Minnesota Department of Education School Social Worker License Working Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Bargaining Unit: Teachers Salary Range: BA, Step 1 at $46, 802/yr to PhD, Step 17 at $100,964/yr, placement will vary depending on education and experience.
