Senior Patternmaker

Reports to Production Manager

*Please note, this is an in-person role in our Chicago office. No remote work offered. Willing to assist with relocation for the right fit.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute 1st proto through production patterns according to design specification and sketches while maintaining fit, form and function of garments.
  • Adhere to the production calendar and flag any potential delays.
  • Troubleshoot potential production issues during sampling to adhere to brand's quality standards and keeping cost down.
  • Identify problems and/or opportunities and make recommendations that improve department efficiency and quality of garment development.
  • Maintain standards in grading, construction and garment specs.
  • Participate in all fittings to discuss fit issues and make corrections based on feedback.
  • Create and maintain accurate cutters-must and POM's.
  • Collaborate closely with design and production to ensure high-quality fit and construction.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of pattern changes and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Expert patternmaker with 10+ years of experience ideally in womenswear.
  • Degree or certification in Fashion Design, Patternmaking, or a related field preferred.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of fit and body grading.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques and production processes.
  • Strong technical experience across a range of categories with a focus on tailoring.
  • Strategic thinker with a growth mindset.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Capable of making the first sample (cut and sew).
  • Ability to create and sew mock ups to work through designs during sampling.

Skills & Tools

  • Proficiency in Gerber software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience in PLM preferred

Salary Range: $90,000-100,000 Negotiable
