About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President and Chief Research Officer (SVP & CRO) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of its research activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall research strategy, ensuring that all research meets the company's standards for quality and objectivity, and fostering strong stakeholder engagement. This role involves leading teams of managers and researchers, overseeing business division activities, and managing the recruitment, hiring, and training of research staff. The SVP & CRO will also be tasked with maintaining trusted relationships with external clients, donors, and grantors to advance the company's mission and impact. Applicants for the SVP & CRO position at the company should have a Master's degree in a relevant field, with a PhD preferred, and a minimum of 18 years' experience in a non-profit research institute, university setting, or a for-profit entity with significant government client relationships. The role requires extensive experience in national security and social and economic policy, as well as a proven track record in research design, program management, and policy analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, executive experience in complex organizational settings, and the ability to engage with top government officials are essential. The ideal candidate will have an established network within government and research organizations, experience in the U.S. executive branch, and familiarity with AI technologies. Security clearance eligibility and a commitment to nonpartisan political activity are also necessary.
