Professional Sign Language Interpreters are sought for an in-person role in Fort Fairfield, ME, within a dynamic middle school environment. This position focuses on providing essential communication support to a 6th-grade student, facilitating an inclusive educational experience for the upcoming school year.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (NIC or equivalent)
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong communication skills
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with middle school students
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
• Knowledge of educational practices and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Fort Fairfield, ME

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for the student in classroom settings
• Collaborate with educators to support the students communication needs
• Attend IEP meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
• Facilitate effective communication between the student and peers/teachers
