Job Description

This opportunity seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support a high school educational setting located in Hampshire, IL, and surrounding areas. The position runs from August 4, 2025, through June 6, 2026, and requires an in-person commitment of 32.5 to 35 hours per week, aligned with the school schedule.

Key Qualifications:

• Approved by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) as a Sign Language Interpreter
• EIPA score of 3.0 or higher qualifies for temporary approval
• Experience working in educational environments preferred
• Ability to interpret effectively for high school students and staff

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities
• Facilitate communication between hearing-impaired students and educators to support academic success
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote an inclusive learning environment
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

Location:

• Position based at a high school in Hampshire, IL, with services extending to surrounding areas as needed
