Job Description

A professional Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide essential communication support for a middle school student in Silverdale, WA. This role is crucial in creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment from September 3, 2025, to June 17, 2026, with the possibility of extension due to unforeseen circumstances such as snow days.

Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with middle school students
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators and other staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person sign language interpretation for the assigned student
• Facilitate communication between the student and teachers, supporting academic success
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure effective interpretation and support
• Participate in planning meetings and professional development as required
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records
