Soliant is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide full-time interpreting services for a middle school student who is deaf or hard of hearing. The interpreter will support access to classroom instruction and school-related communication in compliance with the student's IEP and state requirements.
Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) or another signed system appropriate to the students needs.
Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and school staff during academic and extracurricular activities.
Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards as outlined by RID and educational interpreter guidelines.
Support student comprehension, independence, and engagement within the school environment.
Collaborate with the educational team to ensure accommodations are implemented effectively.
Must have an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or a QAST Level 3 certification in educational interpreting.
Must be listed on the Oklahoma State Interpreter Registry.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong understanding of Deaf culture.
Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
This position requires a commitment of 37.5hours per week
