Staff Accountant

• Our client is a leading nonprofit organization focused on providing services for individuals in terms of treatment support, housing, and family support
• Work alongside one of the strongest accounting teams in nonprofit, with a chance to grow and expand your experience.
• This position will on site in Downtown, Manhattan with one day remote
• Extremely stable, over $100M operating budget, continuing to expand yearly
• Large but tight knit accounting department, internal movement is highly encouraged

Responsibilities:

• Assist Management with budget modifications, preparation of contract documents to city, state & federal funding sources.
• Ensure expense reports are accurate on a monthly basis
• Prepare budget schedules for review by Controller/Management
• Assist with month end close requirements including review of GL balances
• Ensure maximum contract reimbursement by working closely with Program staff

Experience Preferred:

• 2+ years of accounting experience, nonprofit a plus
• Intermediate to Advanced excel including v lookups and pivot tables
• Ability to work independently
