As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in taking our product and engineering team to the next level. We are seeking ambitious builders who are eager to launch exciting features for our restaurant partners and diners. The ideal candidates elevate the teams around them by providing technical mentorship, setting their team's technical vision, and adapting their role to address gaps and reduce risk. You have the toolkit to work on complex and unknown problems under pressure or at speed. You thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment, you are a collaborator and an innovator, and you are excited about what technology is doing for the hospitality industry. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related field + 8 years of experience working as a Software Engineer, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment + 3 years of experience working as a Software Engineering Staff Engineer / Architect + You are a self-starter but very comfortable working closely with a team + You are comfortable working with stakeholders outside the Engineering team including our Compliance, Information Security, Product, Design, Sales and Account Management teams **You have strong expertise with the following:** + Strong experience with a backend programming language, Python & Java Web frameworks preferred + SQL / MySQL / Postgres + RDBMS and database design + Unit / Functional Testing + Linux / UNIX + Implementing and building APIs + Monitoring system performance + Leading and growing teams of fellow engineers through complex deliveries + A history of taking projects through the entire software development lifecycle from inception to delivery as a technical leader + A passion for documenting how systems work **Big Plus if you have:** + History of building and maintaining systems at large scale + Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions + Willingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential + Experience with and understanding of the Resy suite of applications At the core of Software Engineering, every member of our team must be able to demonstrate the following technical, functional, leadership and business core competencies, including: + Agile Practices + Porting/Software Configuration + Programming Languages and Frameworks + Business Analysis + Analytical Thinking + Business Product Knowledge + Python/MySQL Experience + SQL Performance tuning + Microservice architectures + AWS - EC2 / RDS / S3 / SQS + Kafka / Celery / Flask / Django / Supervisord / MongoDB + Dev-ops experience + Jira / Clubhouse.io or other project management tool + Payment systems experience + Websockets experience + You enjoy at least one of the following things: shishito peppers, uni, or creme anglaise **Qualifications** Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
