Structural Steel Estimator . This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an industry leader on impactful projects, contributing expertise in estimating and project documentation for structural steel components.
Position Overview: In this office-based role, you'll be responsible for performing accurate take-offs, analyzing specifications, and preparing detailed estimate summaries for structural steel components. You'll collaborate with vendors and sub-tier suppliers, ensuring all project requirements meet contract specifications and are executed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Estimating & Take-Offs: Perform precise computer-aided and manual take-offs for structural steel components, accurately estimating labor and material needs.
- Documentation Preparation: Develop and organize documentation to support comprehensive project estimates, including scope summaries and cost analyses.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Review vendor and sub-tier quotes to ensure scope compliance and alignment with contract documents.
- Scope Compliance: Analyze contract drawings and specifications, identifying and confirming all elements of the project scope.
- Estimate Summaries: Prepare summaries, noting any special requirements or buy-out items needed for the project.
Requirements Qualifications: - Experience: 1-5 years in the structural steel industry, with familiarity in steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Industry Knowledge: Ability to review contract drawings and specifications specific to structural steel projects.
