Job Description

o\tProvides Logistics support across major operations company-wide (Perishables Purchasing)

o\tContributes to development of the organization's overall supply and logistics strategy.

o\tSupports various launch activities by performing services including:

• \tAttends and participates in regional, national and inter-team meetings

• \tMaintaining OneNote updates (SOP's)

• \tForecasting - Logistics

o\tIdentifies, evaluates and capitalizes on opportunities to reduce costs by improving buying patterns and supply channels through collaboration with purchasing

o\tAccurately manages email flow, maintains good records of communications and provides documentation as required to support inquiries and help with issue resolution

o\tCompiles data, ensures accuracy and performs in-depth analysis as needed

o\tAnalyzes and interprets data results and communicates findings to the team

o\tCommunicates all relevant information and keeps everyone on the same page at all times; fosters collaboration with the group to lower cost of goods to WFM

o\tAssists with the development of new reporting tools to be used by buying teams (global and regional, to support purchasing operational needs and executive decision-making)

o\tPrepares materials and supports buyer communication as needed

o\tMonitors the functional activity processes and outcomes; recommend areas for continuous improvement

o\tWith oversight, performs the truck forecasting tasks, particularly for holiday planning

o\tAssists with managing transportation carriers

o\tSupports team leadership by communicating truck planning issues, interpreting weekly reports and resolving arrival conflicts

o\tCommunicates, represents, and upholds WFM's core values and business philosophy to Team Members and vendor/supply/carrier partners

o\tProvides data and works as liaison for WFM Purchasing team

o\tMonitors the trucking and delivery schedules to proactively identify potential issues and conflicts for all regions

o\tWorks with trucking, delivery, storage, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.

o\tReviews periodic reports for patterns, trends, and systemic issues; communicating improvement recommendations to Senior Team Leader

o\tDrives improvement in key performance metrics, such as order fill rate, on-time delivery, inventory turns, service levels at shelf, returns, and inventory levels versus budget.

o\tTracks and reports on key metrics on a regular basis.

o\tResponsible for daily tracking of load status while in transit, understanding and documenting dwell time at pick up and delivery locations.

o\tEnsures optimal use of processes and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the Transportation Management System (TMS)

o\tMaintains complete and accurate records of all transactions and projections.

o\tAssist with planning and execution of Transportation Procurement RFPs

o\tAdvanced proficiency with standard ordering, delivery, trucking and transportation practices and procedures.

o\tHandles a diverse range of issues requiring evaluation of a variety of factors, including business trends

o\tPossesses deep understanding of the WFM organizations structure, hierarchy and approval levels

o\tUnderstands and influences the types and timing of various departmental deadlines and events

o\tUnderstands how Logistics decision and recommendations may impact third-party business and operations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of program or project management experience

- 1+ years of supply chain experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology

- Experience in MS Access and SQL

- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $57,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $106,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
