🔍 Position Overview

Join a premier New York acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in Case Management, Utilization Review, and Clinical Documentation Improvement. You’ll perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate discharge planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize clinical documentation—all within Epic.

✅ Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Active NYS RN registration
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1.5 years recent acute-care hospital case management experience (similar size/level facility)
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Preferred: Emergency Department Case Management background
• Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA) – current and maintainable
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal communication
  • Strong clinical judgment and analytic skills for utilization review and CDI
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

💼 Core Responsibilities

• Case Management:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments; develop and update individualized discharge plans
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary rounds and ensure timely patient transitions (home, SNF, rehab)
• Utilization Review:
  • Review medical necessity and length-of-stay against payer criteria (InterQual/MCG)
  • Secure concurrent and retrospective authorizations; appeal denials as needed
• Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI):
  • Analyze clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Query providers to clarify diagnoses, severity, and risk adjustments
• Epic Documentation & Reporting
