For this role specifically, we are seeking individuals to help support high-impact civic tech within the federal government. The UI/UX Designer will help us understand our customers\' business challenges and design a product vision that helps meet those needs. They work with stakeholders, customers, and agile development teams via user research, interviews, focus groups, and incorporate all their various and sometimes competing needs into a single user experience. They work with the development team to ensure that what the user eventually sees is something that will make their work easier. Client Requirements: applicants MUST BE US Citizens and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance. Responsibilities Plan and conduct design sprints, end-user research, usability testing, and reviews; analyze user data; and create intuitive UI/UX designs. Provide specialized expertise in the design and layout of graphical user interfaces, particularly screen layouts and functionality for client-server applications (e.g., Microsoft Windows presentation screens). Conduct studies, testing and evaluation of screen prototypes for functionality, ease of use, efficiency, and accuracy. Design user experiences for new and existing web-based applications from concept to completion. Design workflows and experiences that are intuitive, effective, and accessible. Communicate ideas effectively through low and high fidelity mockups. Design both a short term and long term UI/UX vision for products. Think critically through complicated challenges to formulate solutions and collaborate with developers and analysts to implement approved designs. May mentor and supervise other team members. Requirements Bachelors Degree 5+ years of experience Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, innovative, flexible, resilient, and receptive to critique and feedback. Well-organized and able to handle multiple assignments and work effectively across functional areas in a collaborative environment. Must be able to get up-to-speed quickly on new projects and technologies Strong communication and problem-solving skills Nice to Have Skills People management experience Salary Information We are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $85k to $125k annually. The final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
