About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP Merchandising to lead the strategic product direction and financial performance of its commerce and fan vertical businesses. The successful candidate will be a key player in the product creation and merchandising function, responsible for developing and executing annual and seasonal product plans that meet revenue and margin targets. This role demands a leader with a strong background in the product creation process, from concept to consumer, and a deep understanding of the North American retail landscape, particularly in the licensed and branded apparel space. The VP Merchandising will be expected to own the merchandise product creation vision, balance art with science in a data-driven environment, and ensure that the product assortment strategies align with customer demand and profitability goals. Applicants for the VP Merchandising position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in business, apparel, merchandising, or equivalent work experience, with at least 10 years' of progressive experience in the retail and apparel industry. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in delivering results within a large, complex organization and in new, emerging markets. Strong leadership, communication, and management skills are essential, as is the ability to influence change and drive bottom-line results. The ideal candidate will be a culture carrier, an inspiring leader, and will have a rigorous analytic background with a mastery of retail math and analytics. Experience in strategic planning, P&L management, and a passion for creativity and innovation in the merchandising process are also key attributes for this role.
