Pay: $18 - $21/hr W2 (Depending on experience)

Location: Morton, IL

About the Role:

We are supporting one of our clients in hiring a Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join their operations and supply chain organization. This role is responsible for purchasing critical parts, equipment, supplies, and services needed to support day-to-day business functions. You will help manage suppliers, analyze pricing, support sourcing events, and ensure smooth procurement and logistics processes across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Review and assess suppliers based on price, quality, delivery performance, and service.
• Approve purchase orders and ensure items are procured at the best overall value.
• Evaluate requisitions, solicit bids, and analyze pricing proposals.
• Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues with late, defective, or incorrect goods or services.
• Support buyers with data analysis, reporting, sourcing activities, and issue resolution.
• Assist with maintaining procurement systems, documentation, and compliance records.
• Help enforce contract terms and monitor supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate records related to freight, payments, insurance compliance, and procurement activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master’s accepted for new grads).
• 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or a finance-related role.
• Strong analytical abilities and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with reporting tools or visual dashboards (Power BI preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of basic supply chain and procurement principles.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proven ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in similar roles such as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Procurement Analyst, or Transportation Analyst is beneficial.
• On-site availability required; remote or hybrid candidates will not be considered.
