The Position

In the role of Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will operate under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist to execute treatment plans aimed at helping residents regain or maintain their mobility, functionality, and independence. Your responsibilities will include delivering hands-on therapy, educating patients and their families, and assisting the rehabilitation team in providing top-notch care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Support residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and activities to enhance functional mobility.
  • Observe residents’ reactions to therapy and promptly communicate any changes to the Physical Therapist.
  • Provide education to residents and families regarding exercises, techniques, and the use of assistive devices.
  • Accurately document daily treatments, progress notes, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Adhere to all relevant state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state where you practice.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
  • A genuine compassion and dedication to enhancing residents’ quality of life.
