About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for acting as the bank's representative during the entire branch license application period, ensuring all necessary documentation and communication with regulatory authorities is in order. Once the branch license is granted, the CRO will take on standard CRP roles to maintain the branch's compliance with regulatory frameworks and best practices. This includes developing a tailored risk control framework, creating and updating risk management policies, and providing training to staff. The role also involves supporting the general manager with various managerial tasks to enhance branch operations and achieve organizational goals. Applicants for the Chief Risk Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor degree or above that meets the regulatory requirements for a CRO role, a minimum of 15 years of work experience in the Australian banking sector, and a background in risk management within a foreign bank. Proficiency in local risk and compliance requirements, as well as experience in liaising with Australian financial authorities such as APRA and ASIC, is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and management skills, and be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment. The role is suited to a senior management level professional with a focus on credit, market, and operational risk within the banking and financial services industry.
